We have finally got the install date for our HP.

However, the BUS voucher expires 2 weeks before our installation date.

Considering the uncertainty around the scheme and the budget next week I have asked the installer to reapply for the voucher now as I know they cannot be extended.

The installer has declined saying it isn't a problem saying OFGEM might reject the new application, we will just ask for a new one nearer the time.

I don't understand why they can't do that now? They are going to have to do a new application anyway as it is going to expire, so why not do it now, as we then have the voucher valid to beyond our install date.

Am I missing something or worrying unnecessarily?

Our BUS voucher was due to expire the working day prior to the installation date so our supplier cancelled the voucher and applied for a new one with a more suitable expiry date.

@bornagain

That is what our installer is proposing, I just don't want to take the risk with the budget next week.

I'm hopeful that the scheme changes won't take effect until April next year, as it would be pretty unfair to stop it immediately, but I'd rather play it safe and get the voucher reissued now, so I can put that concern to bed.
