Bad COP? Long Pipe Run on Cosy6 Saga Continues.
Toodles, heats his home with cold draughts and cooks food with magnets.
With the ASHP installed in a neighbouring street it's going to struggle with heat loss & hydraulic resistance. Clearly no-one had done any proper hydraulic calculations to determine index leg resistance and static head in m, to check against the McDonald's Bin primary pump capacity. If they had, they'd have used hydraulic separation and a secondary pump circuit from the start.
@allyfish That was my thought, looks like the installation is now turning into a canine’s table of comestibles rather than a neat installation with a good COP. I did note the comments passed on from Octopus (if they were interpreted correctly) that the lower flow temperature he had set was counterproductive as far as efficiency is concerned. Maybe the refrigerant or the compressor designs that RED have produced work on slightly different lines to those we have learnt to expect from other manufacturer’s designs? Regards, Toodles.

Presumably the installer would have realised during commissioning that the pump inside the ASHP wasn’t up to the job and witnessed the low flow rate which would have prompted them to reconfigure the pipe work and introduce hydraulic separation?

It's a a great big (predictable) PR hole 🐙 dug for themselves - they fell for the fan boi influencer rap, let it get filmed with the 🐙 heat pump Head Honcho while installing it halfway up the street. Now it's covering for one cock-up after another. 🤦🏻♀️
My installation team would never have allowed that to happen they didn't even approve a 10m internal (in my cellar) pipe run that the heat loss surveyor suggested. That's one of many reasons why I liked them. They are heat pump purists. 😁
Meanwhile, it would drive me nuts to have my system out of my control. I want more access to data not less. However, Fan Boi only shares his data with 'members'. 🤓
