@editor Thank you Mars, our ASHP is ready to sign autographs when people have watched the cameo appearance at the start! As I mentioned, we have high ambient noise levels from traffic but birdsong may still be heard in the recording but very little from the heat-pump for all that! Regards, Toodles.
Toodles, heats his home with cold draughts and cooks food with magnets.
@toodles 🤣 we need one more video now, and that video will have sound.

This is another call for ASHP noise videos as per the brief above. Still waiting for one more to complete the first video. I’m hoping now that the festive season is coming to an end, I’ll get some submissions. The first videos I’ve received are super interesting.

Not sure about the app. All looks OK, the meter itself works. I then switch to camera/video but when I press record the dB shown jumps up 10 or so. Does this happen to anyone else?
@kev-m, no I've not had that issue. There are other apps around if you want to give them a try. We only need about 10 seconds of recording.

Here’s the first video… I’ll do more if/when people send them to me. This one features heat pumps from Daikin, Grant, LG, Mitsubishi and Global Energy Systems.

Very interesting. A neighbour of ours was considering getting an ASHP and her first question was 'But aren't they terribly noisy?'. I'm not sure where this reputation comes from, but even our installers recommended a location away from the house due to 'the noise'. Our newer air-to-air heat pump (aka air conditioning unit) is noisier and they are always glued to the sides of houses here in Italy. I look forward to the angry comments on the video from Daily Mail readers.
