Havenwise App Help & Forum Support – Get the Most from Your Heat Pump
We’re pleased to announce that Havenwise are now joining the forums in an official capacity.
For those unfamiliar, the Havenwise app lowers the running costs of your heat pump and simplifies heat pump control. With smart software, Havenwise optimises how your heat pump runs, ensuring you get maximum efficiency and comfort. Havenwise currently works with Vaillant, Samsung and Mitsubishi heat pumps (Daikin and others coming soon). On top of all this, their app gives you access to human support when you need it.
From today, Henri (@hcas) and the Havenwise team will be active in this dedicated support thread, answering your questions, troubleshooting issues and sharing advice on how to get the most out of your system.

Hi, how does Havenwise measure the room temperature, is there a sensor somewhere?
Does Havenwise just ignore or over ride any 3rd party controllers or does the user open everything up by setting a higher than desired temp on them?

If the heat pump controller is in a suitable area (e.g., living room, hall, etc.), we use the temperature reading from the controller. If it's hidden in a cupboard, garage, etc., we provide a wireless temperature sensor.
Regarding 3rd party stats, you're spot on. The user sets these a few degrees higher than the desired room temperature to "open up" the system. They effectively become temperature limiters.

I am pleased to say at 4pm today we have added another client onto Havenwise, the system has a new 8.5kW Ecodan connected to new UFH throughout with multi zone control configured to 60% open-loop and all remaining connected UFH room stats are 2 deg above (23℃) to become limiters for solar on south side of building. It took 3 mins to connect the app and 5mins to run through with the client, 1st impression from the client was that it looks intuitive and straight forward, we instructed the client to have a think about how they would like to run their heating and hot water, set the programmers and temperature set points, let the software take a few days to learn the system and any issues they can contact us or Havenwise team for support.

Have e-mailed RHH to get more detailed information about how it works with an Ecodan in Auto Adapt, but, for now, does my Ecodan have to be connected to Mitsubishi Melcloud in order to connect the Havenwise App? If not, how is it connected? Lastly, can it be run off a lap top rather than a mobile? Thanks.

Short answer is yes. Your heat pump talks with Mitsi's cloud via your broadband and Havenwise uses Mitsi's application programming interface in exactly the same way the app on your phone would. I don't know if Havenwise have a browser-based version of their app, but if they do then yes it could be used on a laptop or desktop.

Yes your Mitsubishi heat pump needs to be connected to Melcloud. That's how we communicate with the heat pump.
Yes we have a version that you can access via a laptop:
On your question about Auto Adapt, it doesn't matter in what operating mode it is because Havenwise will put it in the right operating mode to work effectively with Havenwise.

@hcas Thank you. Much appreciated. So, once connected to Melcloud, and download your App, what is the next step to get up and running? Is it an automatic process, or do I have to connect them to each other? Once trial period is over, is there then a contract period sign up?
It has been suggested that it does little more than Ecodan Auto Adapt does and is more suited to those using Weather Compensation? Thoughts?
