Environmental issues:

Xlinks say they'll fill their cooling water ponds from rainfall.

And from where do they think we get our drinking water and keep the rivers flowing?!

This area of Devon is sparsely populated by homo sapiens, and is used for re-introduction of native species.
Are the next generation of beavers and storks to be consulted?

What will our Great Crested Newts think about attenuation ponds I wonder?

Physical technology:

Public availability of generic AI tools has only emerged four years ago.

Xlinks aren't demonstrating awareness of what the inside of a data centre might look like in four year's time, let alone in 40-years which is the projected lifetime for their proposed BESS.
There's no point indicating the number of jobs which might be created at a time when development engineers are already using AI to devise the next generation of fully-automated server technology.

AI is itself accelerating the move to new technology.

Optical processors, quantum computing, full immersion cooling and phase-change cooling are no longer a decade away.

There are a number of next-gen memory technologies emerging. Each offers benefits over the DDR4/5 approach which was designed to plug into traditional motherboards.

Xlinks are taking a huge risk if they simply try to replicate existing AI server architecture.
Why would potential clients want to buy space on a server in Devon when they could use next-gen technology in China, Alaska or Greenland at half the price?

If latency is suggested as an issue, then you wouldn't start by plonking a data centre so far away from high speed internet connections.
