On Monday, November 8, we will be interviewing a biomass installers for our Renewing the Conversation YouTube and Podcast series.

If you have any questions about biomass or there's something you'd like clarification on, please post below and we'll ask the installer.

How do installation and running costs compare to air source heat pumps?

Are there different types of biomass setups or are they all basically the same?

Is there much in the way of regular maintenance that homes have to do such as cleaning?

Is there any planned or likely tightening of regulations around biomass?

@Jeff, great questions - thank you. I also have reservations about how "green" they are. Should be an interesting interview.

@editor

Perhaps a question about how controllable a biomass boiler is. Do they run all day? Running at different temperatures through the day? Turning down or off when away from home for days for work or holidays? As an example we have been away for circa two weeks a month for august to october.

How do the controls compare with gas boilers and heat pumps?

Anything involving burning feels like a transition technology at best?
