SolarEdge SE5000H Inverter Failure
My SolarEdge SE5000H inverter failed yesterday afternoon. it is just over 6 years old. The installer says that he can see a fault code on the inverter which will require a warranty replacement.
An online search shows that inverters manufactured between 2017 and 2020 are having an unusually high failure rate. Such is life but it is particularly galling when the sky is 100% blue!

Installed inside a garage. Installation date September 2020.
Update. My SolarEdge inverter was replaced yesterday with a 10kW model (limited to 5kW). The replacement is a much bigger unit with cooling vanes at the rear.
i must publicly commend GenFit Chester for its first-class technical support, and SolarEdge for sending out a replacement so promptly. I still have no idea why the original inverter failed. If I was a guessing person, I would suspect that heat was the cause of an internal failure.
