@iantelescope i think that midsummer wholesale sell them (Homely not trained installers)
4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.
@iantelescope I would suggest you contact them to see what services they have in your area. Regards, Toodles.

Homely does NOT Cycle ....
But is unobtainable to everyone outwith the locally extinct species .................................Trained Installers!
On the positive side ,Homely does NOT Cycle ..........................
The sixth major installation fault by my old "installer ".
My "Short Cycling " was NOT caused by the absence of a Buffer,
My "short Cycling" was caused by the Wrong Thermostat !!
@iantelescope have you tried midsummer wholesale. I think they will sell most things they stock to anyone.
Please note that homely is sofaik not just a drop in replacement for a thermostat. It talks to the heat pump's control bus (modbus I think for Samsung). That is how it can modify the flow temperature.
Just turning up the temp on your existing thermostat should stop the cycling. If I were you I'd be tempted, if homely isn't available (and possibly even if it is) to do that initially. You can always retrofit later if you are having trouble getting the right WC curve.

Have you a Homely ?
I have tried several companies , including Midsummer , who apparently do not sell the beast to the great unwashed general public!
Puzzled?
I was puzzled as to why the Samsung did NOT have a modern replacement for old fashioned Thermostat switches, so reminiscent of Bi-metal switches!.
My Ideal Thermostat would use the Samsung Control busses instead of the antique Ancient Switch left over from the Late Jurassic.
Homely seems the perfect solution, with no Cycling and a continuous , unswitched, Water Temperature control integrated with Weather compensation.
Seems too good to be true!

No, hence why I said that they are 'reputedly' good. Every post I have seen seems to rate them well.
Nor do I have a heat pump because my planning authority won't give me permission and demands a noise level which would require me to site a heat pump 56m from the nearest neighbour, or 18m if I can fully screen it, neither of which is possible.
I have spent 2.5 years studying them however and haven't given up yet on finding a way to get round my hypocritical, Green run, local authority.
Homely have, from repute, done a good job. Some hp manufacturers, eg mitsubishi (there are others) have an auto adapt mode. This aims to do some of what homely does, but not the more advanced features (which require a subscription). Homely started with the heat pumps that have a less sophisticated controller and a modbus interface, such as Samsung and midea.
In an ideal world heat pump manufacturers would make heat pumps and controller manufacturers would make controllers, the two interfacing via a standard bus. That would have many advantages not least that installers would need to learn one or max two controllers but be able to select from a large range of actual pumps to suit the circumstances. Unfortunately we don't live in an ideal world.

Poor uptake of Weather compensation in the UK !
Brought up in an environment where every Boiler consisted of a copper tank , a Bi-metal strip Thermostat connected in series with an Immerser, I am conditioned to expect every boiler to have a Simple Thermostat !
Having the House Temperature, set or controlled, by the outside Weather is unsettling.
Two control devices , Thermostat and Weather Compensation seems an unnecessary control conflict !
I understand .....but I will still, instinctively, reach half way up the wall............for a Thermostat!

It should still be possible to set up your system so that it operates smoothly in weather compensation mode, without the benefit of a homely system.
@iantelescope Ian, whichever way the cookie crumbles, it is still the OAT (the weather) that dictates the need for heat (or the lack of it) so I think you may have to make that mental adjustment!😉 King Cannute (sp?) couldn’t stop the tide rolling in any more than we can command the sun to shine or the rain to stop (or start!). Even Homely has to accept the weather that is thrown at us and deal with it. Regards, Toodles.

Homely, overkill?
I agree Derek , I can make an adequate system to provide a slightly varying , wave like, 24 hour a day , Heating system.
But, What if If I want to best use Octopus "Cosy" , what then , How?
A continuous Control of Room and pipe water temperature is surely far better than any switched dinosaur ?
@iantelescope Just regard that thermostat on the wall as a limiting device that prevents your house from excess heating; set 2 degrees above your comfort level, it is a safety device - no more, no less! With WC in charge, the system will perform far better than that ‘stat’ you are reaching for ever could. Regards, Toodles.

Bi-metal youth!
You are right Toodles , I must love Weather compensation a wee bit more, paying less attention to my Bi-metal strip youth!
