Mediation with RECC, what's your experience?
After a particularly bad install I finally seem to have a working system (fingers crossed for this winter).
I'm now chasing the installer for compensation, I've had to take weeks off work dealing with all the issues, waiting for heating engineers to turn up over the last 12 months.
Can anyone share their experience going through mediation/arbitration with RECC?
Welcome to the forums @treewizard and sorry to hear about your issues. RECC are not very helpful from what I've heard but if your installer is registered with them, you have no choice but to move the complaints process ahead with them. They have no mediation 'arm' unlike their competitor HIES. Having said that, I will be willing to help by amplifying your issues if you don't get anywhere with them.
Lodge a complaint, and keep us posted here. If they don't step up and help, I'll use our platform to see if we can pressure them.

@editor Thank you, I really appreciate it!
I've made initial contact with RECC to try and get their perspective/advice before escalating to a formal complaint, and will report back. I've been offered a nominal sum by the installer as a "good will gesture".
My worry with taking it any further, is that I will end up with less, or even nothing, as there's very little in the way of provable loss.
