There are many bodies which set some level of regulatory control over the installation of heat pumps.

A few offer a complaints procedure for consumers to seek redress in the event of a poor installation.

Whilst responding to a Government public consultation on the Future of Ofgem during February, I came across a paragraph which identified Ofgem, the energy sector regulator, as a statutory enforcement agency.

I have, of course, responded to this question,
but I wondered how any of us here would actually go about involving Ofgem in obtaining a remedy for an improperly-designed or badly-implemented installation.

Until I read this section published by the Dept of Energy Security and Net Zero, I had always assumed that the correct course to pursue a claim under the Consumer Rights Act was through the Citizens Advice Bureaux in UK.

Has @editor ever heard of this route to Ofgem before?

Is a potential complaint to Ofgem restricted to the situation when the HP installation contract is with an Energy Supplier?
Ie that's a company which has a Licence Agreement with Ofgem?

Does @heacol have access to a Compliance Officer who could advise whether an Energy Supplier is obliged to address a Complaint made under the Consumer Rights Act?
