The city of York is offering grant-funded improvements for low income households through our Home Upgrade Grant (HUG).

The following types of energy efficiency measures are available:

  • loft insulation and draft proofing
  • cavity wall insulation
  • attic room insulation
  • PV solar panels
  • air source heat pumps (available for homes which are not connected to gas or which don’t have central heating)
