@trebor12345 A sort of improvement then, the next stage is to look at the Settings - Powerwall - Utility Rate Plan; here you will be able to see what settings you have for the import and export buy and sell prices are. These may be edited and you may set times and prices; you will be looking in particular at the buy / time during your cheapest buy hours. I haven’t checked as I am not using an EV Tariff but, many of them are selectable from a menu and would set this schedule for you. Settings - Add Your Utility Account is where you would find these. Come back with any further questions - you are making progress! Regards, Toodles.

All I have in Utility Rate Plan is the 2 tariffs that I am on.  Export for solar at 12p.  Day rate at 33p. Octopus Go at 9.5p.

@trebor12345 That screenshot suggests to me that ‘Go’ may be there in name but as there are no times shown, I think there is a need to look further into the Utility Rate Plan to see if the system is aware that you have a n EV import rate at night. You may care to set this up manually by tapping on the ‘Change Rate Plan’ at the bottom of that screen. On the screen that appears, Set Up New Custom Rate Plan; you will then be able to set your own times and rates. I would press that buttaon and guide you through the next screen but I don’t want to wipe my current settings😉. Let us know how you get on please. Regards, Toodles.

Going to the Utility Rate Plan only gives me options for different Octopus Tariffs.  The Go price is fixed for overnight 33p (12:30 to 5:30) and rest of the day 33 p.

@trebor12345 If you select the Change Rate Plan button, you should then be able to select Custom )I think it is called) and then set up your actual times and prices. Once you have a custom programme, you can also edit it to your satisfaction. It sounds as though the pre-set for Go is not fully implemented to me. The manual settings allow you to set whatever you wish. Let us know how you get on later. Regards, Toodles.

@toodles

Could you show me your screen print of your Powerwall from yesterday. As attached.

Interested in the blue line.

@trebor12345

It’s been my experience that the PW AI isn’t super smart and simply putting in the actual import and export values are sometimes not enough to force it to obey your financial best interests.
I’m not on octopus Go but what I do is to massively exaggerate the values. So, for example, here’s what I use for one of my tariffs. It looks clumsy, but it works.

I don't see any of that detail.  I suspect you are on a very smart tariff. The Octopus Go is simply an overnight of 9p.

@papahuhu I like the degree of exageration on the sell price - no wonder the rest of us are paying so much for our electricity!!!😉😉 My figures are also exaggerated, but not quite so much!

Rewards, Toodles.

@trebor12345 When you enter the details manually, you can create your own ‘details’; this requires you to totally disregard the ready rolled schedules for as I mentioned before, I don’t think your EV tariff details are being reported to the Tesla app correctly. Setting up your schedule manually enables you to put your own times and prices for import and export. Regards, Toodles.
