Electrical works for air to air heat pump
Hi All. Some more advice please.
I'm noticing that the people I contact are reluctant to discuss what electrical work they will do. One mentions it in small point but even he seems to somehow ignore my questions when i try to ask about what these added costs are.
It feels like there is little transparency on any of this. The fact that some people aren't even mentioning this is worrying enough as what are they trying to hide?
The reason I'm asking is because one specific company providing quotes provided a clear cost breakdown which included adding a 13a fused spur and a dedicated 16+ connection (but I can only go on a waiting list for them).
I have asked other companies about the electrics since and they ignore my question which I am assuming is intentional and just answer the easy bits.
I have just been in touch with Heatable about their quote, and after dodging the question initially, they stated that they will simply connect a 5.5KW multi split direct to the consumer unit. I don't think i would want to go with them anyway now but was curious to know their process.
Now im starting to think that this sector is a bit of a wild west which isn't properly regulated. Am I right?
I really want air conditioning before summer and there is a significant waiting list everywhere and I'm getting the impression that those that are able to do the work, are doing it quickly whilst cutting corners.
