@allyfish It was going so well with month after month showing increases over previous years of solar energy production; unfortunately, October had at least 30% of the month with day-long

thick grey clouds reluctant to let the sunshine through☹️. This October was still better than ‘24 but ‘23 was better than either! Regards, Toodles.

Another month has gone by and the stats are in! Nov.’25 was better than ever for our 3 years of records - long may the increases continue! Toodles.

@andy1618ndris In December 2023 (my first December reading) the yield

IMG 6733

Then December 2024 yield was lower…

But, this December was the best yet!

I wonder what the next year might bring? Happy New Year to Everyone. Toodles.

@toodles i dont think my app readings are quite right but gist will be ok.

Dec 2025: 73 vs 72, 70 previous 2 years.

6.3kw array. Additional 2.2kw system is separate.

Prod for year is showing as 5253kWh and 5150 in 2024, 4606 in 2023 impacted by an outage.

More importantly to me i exported 7609kwh according to Octopus vs 2680 in 2024 and less again in 2023. massively impacted by force exports from batteries that we filled overnight at 7p

So outcome this year is approx 14500kWh imported at sub 8p kWh and 7609kWh exported at 15p. Net cost near zero. Very happy! Hope to do similar in 2026

Happy New Year!

@tim441 I have just realised that I omitted the December 2022 graph (Though 2023 was still my first full year of solar power production) The total for December 2022 was actually the highest for that month over all subsequent years though.

IMG 6734

The total production figures for the three years are: 2023 = 6.5 MWh, 2024 = 6.0 MWh and 2025 = 7.1 MWh. The 21 panels total 8.1 kWp. but are neither ideally orientated or free from some shading (particularly at this time of year). Regards, Toodles.

December is dire for us. 3/4 the way up a south facing hills the sun barely manages to get its nose over the peak. Had a look today and there’s half a larch trees worth of debris sitting on them too, which doesn't help. Come Feb I’ll get my long stick and give them a brush and a rinse down, don’t fancy having water running down my arm when it’s so cold.

@papahuhu I’ve heard that some systems are beginning to use drones to clean panels - a water supply tube is fitted to the drone and I assume that water is then pumped up to the drone’s steerable nozzle or something.

@toodles

I guess it makes sense, ladders and water don’t mix well. Not sure that a water jet would be enough to get through the pigeon poop on mine though. I’m too mean to pay anyone to clean them.
I picked up a professional secondhand 15 metre window cleaning pole from eBay and a DI water generator. I can get all the way to the roof ridge from ground level, but it is a bit unwieldily. It’s manageable as long as I can get the brush resting on the panels.

@papahuhu I am able to reach / access 12 of my 21 panels as 10 are ground mounted and 2 on a low roof; the rest have to make do with rainfall! Toodles.
