@saz I know very little about it. I will contact Sero to see if they want to be interviewed.

Energy prices are skyrocketing and fuel poverty is increasing – will the UK government still meet its renewable targets? Watch or listen to our very interesting and insightful interview with Matthew Aylott from BEIS:

Call me an old cynic, but I do find it concerning when the person talking is continually looking around the room rather than maintaining eye contact, albeit with a camera.
I suppose the main points that I gained from this interview is that BEIS appear to be playing catch up, in that they anticipate that things will be much better, but only years in the future. I'm not holding my breath.
Well done to the both of you for pointing out what appear to be the weaknesses in government policy, and highlighting the problems that homeowners are experiencing now.
Great and timely video @editor Some very good questioning even though some of the answers were quite 'soundbitey' and vague. I will be looking forward to seeing the 'Affordability Review' that's for sure. I am left with a strange mix of feelings, a bit of hope, a bit of despair and a feeling of this Gov still being a bit disconnected from reality in terms of real on the ground happenings in the heatpump world and of just how deeply this price rise and consequential fuel poverty issue will affect end-users.
@saz, a lot of canned replies and something we were expecting. What did surprise us is that all the concerns (even very small) we raised (including stuff that never made the final edit) the government is fully aware, which is heartening. Whether they act on them positively is another story.

@derek-m, an interesting observation. It’s something we never picked up on during the interview, and it was only during the edit that I thought he may have notes on a screen to the side that he was maybe referencing with his regular side glances… or maybe that’s just his ‘style’.

Our interview with Simon Smith where we talk about solar PV, batteries, V2G and much, much more. A very interesting and informative interview in my humble opinion.

I was a little surprised that Simon did not mention the German company SMA, who have had a gateway system for automatic changeover on loss of grid supply for at least the past 10 years. I remember reading about it when I had my solar PV system installed over 10 years ago.
@derek-m, true. I’ve learnt that installers always speak about the kit they’re comfortable using, and he’s probably not used or installed SMA’s products.

Our third interview with Graham Hendra where we discuss high temperature heat pumps, weather compensation and have some fun about who will play Graham when his book is adapted into a movie.
