Posted by: @goodyIts weird how when things go wrong you realise you may have been a bit gullable letting cowboys in and believing everything they say because they were had 'Trustmark Government Endorsed Quality' and were 'MCS Certified'. What a load of tripe! You live and learn!
But ultimately what else do you have to go on? Credentials mean very little in the world of heat pump installations because standards are not being met or enforced. Word of mouth is going to be key going forward, until the industry can clean up its act and start to weed some of the incompetence out. There are are good installers out there, but it seems they’re outnumbered by dodgy ones at the moment.

@oswiu Thanks I will have to look into that...although I do feel it sort of defeats the object of trying to go 'green' then because of cowboys I have got to go back to burning fossil fuels. My wife will say new larger pump or gas combi boiler to replace the pump and cylinder! Then it comes down to financial outlay
It is a total sanity defeater! I am glad it has has got warmer even if for a short while just to relive the pressure in my head!
Can anyone recommend an installer who is extremely knowledgable with gas boilers and air source heat pumps around the Cheshire/Staffordshire/Stoke on Trent area?
Thanks
Yes you correct. It is the same for a lot of new tech. Until there is a standard set , there will always be cowboys. I always thought I would be more wise to them and be able to weed them out beforehandPosted by: @editorPosted by: @goodyIts weird how when things go wrong you realise you may have been a bit gullable letting cowboys in and believing everything they say because they were had 'Trustmark Government Endorsed Quality' and were 'MCS Certified'. @goody there should be a "Reports" icon along the bottom of the screen that takes you to a number of options.
As you said, it does sound like yours may have been set up in a different way - I'm sorry I don't have any experience of multiple Ecodan heat pump schemes.
Mitsubishi Ecodan 11.2kW R32 ASHP; Ecodan DHW cylinder; UFH+rads
20x430W Jinko TOPCON Tiger Neo solar; Luxpower 6+4kW hybrid inverter; 20kWh LFP battery storage
On Melcloud I go into 'Reports' where there is a list Temperature History , Operation Mode etc. I click on any of the options 'Select System' 'please select at least one item'. There is nothing to select apart from 'next' or 'back'
Thanks
when you click on Next it should take you to date range options for the report. On Hourly Temperatures it should take you straight to the graph. Then you can choose the parameters to displayPosted by: @goodyOn Melcloud I go into 'Reports' where there is a list Temperature History , Operation Mode etc. I click on any of the options 'Select System' 'please select at least one item'. You might have luck seeing if your installation was secured with one of the consumer protection schemes and seeing if they'll help with cost. Given history I've seen here, the age of your installation, and the fact that your installer has gone bust, I doubt they'll be of much help but it's worth a shot. You could ask MCS anyhow if they have any advice on financial help for what is quite clearly an inadequate installation that breaks their rules, and they might also know who your installer was registered with.
You could try the Heat Geek map on their website for a good installer. I wouldn't say they're guaranteed to be the best installers or that all good installers are on there (my installer for example are great and very knowledgeable but not on there), but it does show a certain effort beyond the minimum as they have to complete what appears to be somewhat rigorous training and testing.
I contacted MCS and they said " Hero Renewables are no longer MCS certified, but, this doesn't stop them from being able to do work on your ASHP, especially since you have a contract with them." They later said they could not help me.
Trustmark "On checking our database, I can see that Hero Renewables Ltd are no longer TrustMark registered and therefore no longer covered by the TrustMark dispute process. "

I forgot to add that, before clicking Next, you need to select your system by clicking at the top of the screen on your user name. Your system(s) should appear in a drop-down for you to click on.

@goody my greatest simpathy goes out to you. It is so annoying that these systems in place to supposedly protect consumers are least helpful when most needed. If they were forced to protect consumers even after the installers went bust then I would guess that they'd be unwilling to allow these cowboys to operate in the first place.
Many thanks. Yes I agree with you.Posted by: @oswiu@goody my greatest simpathy goes out to you. I am going to contact NICEIC and ask them for help before I look into getting another installer out
