The fan of my Samsung Gen 6 outdoor unit has been running on and off all day today. Its just the fan, not the compressor. It has done it before in hot weather but have no idea why. The system is not supposed to cool as far as I'm aware. It is on but the thermostat is set to 12 so of course the heating isn't called for. Any ideas?

I wonder if it has some kind of pressure transducer to control the refrigerant pressures or is cooling the electronic components, it has been know some manufacturers use the fan in summer when there is no demand to dry off the evap coil to stop erosion. Unfortunately I am not a Samsung expert so I don't know this machine that well.
