I’ve just paid the deposit for the installation of a heat pump by EDF (CB Heating until bought outright by EDF). It is a remarkably competitive offer for a Daiken 16kw HP (maybe smaller following an assessment).

7 years warranty

7 years annual servicing

Free provision and installation of up to 12 radiators

A further £500 discount by paying the deposit before 11th Feb.

0% finance if wanted

Free electricity in December 2025 (I’m staying with Octopus so this isn’t relevant).

Total cost under £6k after BUS for a 4 bedroom detached house of a hybrid nature when it comes to when it was built.

I have to have a technical assessment in two weeks time to check the project is viable. A Heat Geek survey last November, with the same calculated heat loss, was 3 times more expensive.

Ideal HP290 14kw heat pump, 2.99kw PV, Powerwall 2, Zappi charger, EV. Midlands location hybrid house part 1911, part 1970, part 2020s.
