LG Therma, Controller settings help needed

Im in the process of helping a friend make the best of the heat pump they had installed 3 years ago. The company no longer exist and their bills are high. (How many times have we heard that!)

They appear to have a water cylinder with integrated buffer vessel.

What I would like to do first is check they are running on weather compensation and adjust their settings to get the maximum efficiency. I would also like to perhaps improve DHW efficient too.

Ive managed to get into the installer settings but do not have experience with LG I just wanted to check what I understand.

I will attach images but summarise the settings below:

Room Heating

Heating Temp setting <Outlet>

Air Heating set Temp <16><30>

Water Heating set Temp <20><65>

Hysteresis Heating Water <-2><2>

Hysteresis Room Air (Heating) <-0.5><1.5>

Pump Setting in Heating  <Time setting> <3 On><3 Off>

Seasonal Auto Temp

Mode <heat>

Outdoor Temp <-10><18> Graphical display

Target Temp <-10 (50C)><18 (40C)> Graphical display

Water Heating?

Select Temp Sensor <Water><Remote Control>

Use Heating Tank Heater <Use><Cycle><30>

 

From my photos, im not absolutely sure I have things in the right section, but I will explain what I think Im seeing.

The 'Season Auto Temp' is saying that Weather Compensation is active with a flow temperature of 50C at -10 OAT and 40C at 18 OAT. Given they have UFH with a large area and thick slab I think these figures could be dropped substantially.

Im not sure what the 'Room Heating' and 'Water Heating' are telling me but I think given they are on Octopus Cosy I would like to set specific water heating time slots and maybe disable the immersion for legionella control.

Given the UFH and radiators have individual on/off valves, Im not sure how this is managed in the controller.

I know little about the various LG controls and reading the screens is of limited assistance with my eyesight however…

I think you have told us sufficient when you mention the WC settings. I suspect that the 50 @ -10 might be reduced a little (initially, perhaps 5 degrees but the 40 @ +18 sounds very high. I would suggest that you might safely drop that to 30 @ + 18 as a starting point. Further reduction might well be possible once you establish the change this makes. Regards, Toodles.

@toodles Thanks, my thoughts exactly although temperatures here rarely drop below zero for long. What Im not sure about is where to change the settings but im watching some youtube videos to try and get a bit more info.
