@toodles the details I have already set up for the standard app don't work on this page, I'll have to see what else I need to do.  The guy who installed mine said I would be able to see more information on the web page, I'll ask him if he has any more info. It sounded like he was driving around the country fitting these so must have lots of systems on his app that he'll never look at again. He wasn't local to me at all.

@johnnyb I think that Homely policy is still that of installer access only; if you go to their sight (and I didn’t say this) you may find that you can do a quick on-line training course and register as an installer. But I didn’t tell you that!😉. Regards, Toodles.

You don’t even need to do a training course.

(From another registered Homely installer 😉)

@grahaml Welcome Graham, the more ‘trained engineers’ contributing here the better!😉 Regards, Toodles.

Well thats some reading you guys have put in there!

It looks like I have to get this dreaded balance right before I look at Homely and Solar/Battery . I have a quote in place but not gone ahead until this balancing has been advised . I am hoping the proposed and preferred bid for my solar installation company will help with Homely as well.

@johnnyb from what remember, with a bit of advice from toodles….this was for a homely already installed and up and running.

I installed the homely installer app. Created an account. Add hub option and scanned QR code. After which, cancelled setup. My install then appeared along with the demo.

the app is useful as provides a snapshot of flow and return temps. Cylinder temp etc.

Use same credentials to access homely dashboard (will come up on google search).

Access really needs to come as standard. It has been invaluable for me to identify some issues and in fairness someone from homely called me today in response to an email, to talk me through how to try and assist with it not quite getting to target temp etc.

Thanks @toodles @grahaml @benson That was fairly easy, apart from I didn't digest Benson's sentence about cancelling the setup and tried to fully set up the hub. For some reason it wouldn't show the 'Next' button when it got to pairing the Node. After watching lots of the videos and still not getting anywhere I deleted the Demo Hub and it didn't ask me to finish installing my hub any more.

I now have access to the dashboard, thanks all.

Another question after 10 days with the Homely installed.  Does anyone have an overnight set back or different temperatures during the day to the evening?

We like it at 21 in the evenings but during the day like it cooler, especialy in the morning.  I've tried setting the temperature to 19 during the day and 21 in the evening, and nothing set after 10.30, but the Homely is still running the heating at midnight when the house is already over 21 and it doesn't seem to let the temperature drop at all. It is still running in the morning when the temperature is around 21 deg but the set point is 19.

I've started switching the heating off overnight so the house can cool down and then switching it back on around lunch time.  Our house is probably different to most of yours as it is new and very well insulated so the temperature drops slowly, but I didn't expect the heating to be running when the temperature is above the next set point, or running when it is already above the set point.

It was very good at keeping a constant temperture for the first week, although it is a little confused at the moment as the weather compensation wasn't switched off by the installer, but I changed it at the end of last week, and now the Node is losing connection regularly and the heating is mostly off when that happens.  I have emailed Homely about the Node, the rest I will wait and see what happens and if it settles down

@johnnyb Have you looked at the Temperature Flexibility setting? [Heating Page / Heating Controls / Heating Flexibility] There are options for an amount that Homely is permitted to rise above the set comfort level Homely explain this as allowing the control to take advantage of TOU tariffs and also anticipating weather trends plus it learns your home’s needs. I have ours set on 1 degree tolerance but you can set it to 0.0.,1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 or even 5.0! Also have you set up TOU tariff? If so, Homely may be trying to heat at cheapest times to save cost. Though I have set ours for TOU (Cosy), there isn’t really a great advantage for us as we have battery storage and charge during the 8 lowest rate hours of the tariff anyway.

Another setting: [under the same page and menu] is Cool Night Mode which if you aren’t currently using, might be worth trying. Homely does tend to ensure that temperatures will meet your setting under ALL normal circumstances and will tend to exceed this setting - I have found it useful to use a preemptive attitude and set the required temperature a little lower and this does normalise things somewhat. I am still learning over a year after installation! Generally, apart from Homely being afeared of us being cold at any time, the Homely controller has worked very well.

During the first few weeks when the company was closely monitoring our installation, I had an email from them explaining they had observed that the node was dropping out occasionally and they would send me a new button cell for it - no problems since then. Regards, Toodles.

@toodles I spoke to Homely this afternoon as the Node lost connection at lunch time and I couldn't get it to connect it again.  They looked at my account and said the battery charge has been dropping very quickly over the time I have had it and asked me to try a new battery as it is probably the problem and should sort it.  I bought one online from Argos but haven't been to pick it up yet. I have switched the Homely off at the plug and I'm switching the heating on and off manually using the Samsung controller.

I said all that to say that I can't change anything on the heating atm as the app is showing I'm in recovery mode as it is switched off, but I haven't seen a setting for temperature flexibility on the app, I only have the option to switch the heating off under heating controls, and I think I was told the cool night mode was an option with Smart+, that I haven't paid for as I'm not on a TOU tariff at the moment.  Maybe the temperature flexibility is part of smart+ as well, or maybe I don't have the option to change that as I'm on the free trial.  I think I read in the the conditions that I have agreed to a 2 deg overshoot.  That seemed fine when I signed up, and I have been setting the temperature lower to see if that helps, but it doesn't seem to even try to let the temperature drop when I have the different temperatures set and I wondered if that was how it worked.

I'm paying a set amount for the electric for heating while I'm on the trial so the cost isn't an issue and most of the time it doesn't matter that downstairs is warm in the mornings, I'm just trying to work out what it is trying to do and if there is anything else I can do go get it working as I would like once the trial has ended.

The guy at Homely said I could try the standard mode if I want it switched off overnight, but I could do that with any good thermostat and seems a waste of a Homely.  I've been on Agile for years and was hoping I could pay for the smart+ option once the trial has ended to make the best use of TOU tariffs.  I want to use the trial period to see how it works and if it is worth keeping it to control my HP

@johnnyb I was lucky as my system was one of the first Daikin of its’ ilk to have the newly integrated control by Homely; as such, they took a particular interest in my system for their own interest as well as my own. I was granted access to the Dashboard and had a named contact by email at the time. The named contact was the person who told me about the node dropping out and arranged for a replacement button cell to be sent. ‘Twas rather strange to receive a strong cardboard box about 30 cm cubed covered in warning labels and bar codes etc. plus graphics of flames… Inside was a huge amount of packaging in which was buried a single button cell for the node! When I emailed my contact to tell him it had arrived, I also described the packaging and the need to comply with regulations etc. His reply was on the lines of “Don’t talk to me about safety regs.”

I am using IOS and the app version is: 5.2.1 and the firmware: v24.11.1801 (wi-fi provisioning) are you on similar versions? Under Heating Controls, there are three sections, the first two ‘Heating Schedule is active’ and Cool Night Mode have toggle buttons on the left hand side. Then under those two options comes Temperature Flexibility with a selector on the left hand side, when this is tapped on, it offers the range ‘Set your Heating Flexibility’ and allows setting from O degrees to 5 degrees. Regards, Toodles.

Hi @toodles

I’m on the same OS, the same app and firmware versions as you, don’t subscribe to Smart+, and also don’t have the Cool Night Mode or Temperature Flexibility options. Must be a Smart+ thing.

The dashboard does show a maximum temperature, which I presume is what you can adjust, but for me it is automatically set at half a degree above the maximum temperature set during the day. If I change the temperatures in the schedule, that maximum temperature adjusts to follow the new highest temperature set.
