ECODAN COP envy
Hi all our ecodan has never been able to read delivered energy, only consumed. We dont know our COP.
When we had it serviced the Mitsubishi service person said flow meter was not connected, then he realised there wasn't a flow meter !
The ashp was installed already in the brand new dormer bungalow, we moved in Nov 21. We had very little contact with the installers, Elusive Green Energy.
We don't clain Rhi payments as it was installed by a developer.
The ashp is running great on WC with help from this forum.
So I just curious compared to other peoples figures does the 5232kWh per annum stack up,? we have Ufh downtairs and k2 rads x 5 upstairs plus 2 towel rails Dormer bungalow approx 182sqm excl unheated garage. House seems very will insulated only drops 2/3 degrees overnight when heating is off.
Ashp is normally runs about 9 hours a day set back 5 hours over night. Most rooms downstairs 20 and upstairs 19.
I have attached images with our actual figs.
It sounds similar to what I get with an Ecodan 14kW, in a 30 year old timber framed house of similar floor area and using radiators only. I usually have an annual usage of 6200 kWhs. I am in a cold exposed location so thermal wind wash is an issue for me in cooling the house.
@sand I had exactly the same when first installed in Nov 21. I called the installers back and they fixed it. No idea what they did but it was a setting in the controller making it display both delivered and consumed as opposed to just consumed. Someone on here will likely be along soon to tell you how it's achieved.
Retrofitted 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan to new radiators commissioned November 2021.
14 x 500w Monocrystalline solar panels.
2 ESS Smile G3 10.1 batteries.
ESS Smile G3 5kw inverter.
We live in a 1971 detached bungalow half way up a hill in Scotland so wind wash is an issue for us too. I have insulated the house as much as possible. I have reduced the flow temp to 36 and it keeps the house between 19 & 20 with weather compensation in charge and no set back overnight. We have 3 bedrooms and 3 public rooms and a wet central heating system. Last year the heat pump ( Ecodan 14kw) used 4751 and delivered 18186 so a cop of 3.83.
My COP historically was 4.1 - 4.2 but the cold weather last year pinned that back to 3.8 last year. I have hybrid solar thermal/PV panels which help enormously if the sun doth shine even in winter, but last year was a bit gloomy as well as cold.

Yes, they scavenge the heat from the back of the PV panel while it generates so instead of being open the PV panel is mounted in a box with the heat recovery pipes behind the panel. Solimpeks is the manufacturer. The downside is they are slightly smaller so less efficient than a pure PV panel and the thermal part is slightly less efficient than a pure thermal panel, but the advantage is they are combined so maximise roof space.

The PV side should also be slightly more efficient if kept cooler.
