DHW SET UP with Samsung gen 5
Using the timer is more efficient for most people most of the time.
Thank you
OK that was Gen 6. So Iam going to start a new thread as I need some help.
I have never had to use the controller on my Gen 5 HP as it has been set up for cycling to reheat the dhw when the temp drops by 5c.
My new plan which has bee prompted by quaker is to heat my water during the Octopus Cosy tarriff which when the cheap periods are 4-6am , 3-4pm and 10-12am.
So firstly I can set my controller clock which is never used as the Danfoss thermostat times the system but not dhw.
Searching on line I found a set up off gen 5 manual for introducing Daily dhw times but as far as Ican see its only 3am to 6pm for hating water but that doesnt suit the tarrif times . Or can it be for three times activated.
Can any one advise please.
Graham is the master for Samsung, he has a lot of videos on youtube on how to do stuff with Samsung. I am sure you can change the 3am timer and also I am sure you can set multiple timers.
I would also recommend a 3rd party overlay which work wonderfully with time of use tariffs and they do everything for you.

Many thanks , I contacted Havenwise on my needs as I acted on your thoughts , but they said that I would need to contact Samsung as to what I need to go forward . My Gen 5 can be enabled to take a board and then wifi but Samsung are so unhelpful and difficult to get in touch with.
Meantime I will have a look at the video , Thank you.
@alfapat ah sorry to hear that, surprisingly I think Samsung are one of the most popular I unfortunately am not an expert in Samsung controls.
Best of luck with sorting it out.

@hcas Hi H, I think joule are the UK distributer through a lot of merchants for Samsung, @alfapat is it through Joule you are getting info? They supply the merchants if it is the merchant not helping?

@alfapat I found this video where they set more than 1 timer

You will obviously need to put in some off times for your application.;-)
Should hopefully do it 🙂

no it’s not it just a search of user manuals , being careful not to pay for them !
I have put in some DHW time settings with the help of my attached info on gen5 DHW settings , so I will see if they work . I am not sure if I also need to tell the controller of off times as well . At the moment I am working on the premis that on the day hours if the water is at the right storage temps , then there would be no need for the HP to switch on , except that after 12am the system detects that a drop in temperature happens after a bath has been run and I am hoping this new timing set for 4am in the morning negates that , so will see the energy use tomorrow.
I will visit city plumbing tomorrow.

Had to put in of times , as it didnt work , however hopefully now with off times to suit Cosy then on times stay where they should be .
Still not working .
I notice in Daily timing for DHW that there only five slots and I am trying to do 3 cosy on and off timings , which should be 6 slots .
However the first time I set up the controller on Dailys' The tap icon was missing so I have gone over the settings again it seems to remain this time . The last and remaining slot which is the after a bath reheat I have left to come on at 3.00am but cant put in and off time .The only other thing I have done , as I mentioned earlier is setting the clock time on the controller to 24hr and when I set on/off times in DaIly I assume I set for say 3.00pm I use 15.00.Any instruction I get for slots from user manuals ask to set am/pm which doesnt come up on screen settings.
Sorry , this rambles on but simply trying to explain as best I can.
I hope what I am doing is correct if any one has better instructions which I have searched for online then please let me know.
Meantime have ordered smart wifi and mim-B19N board for HP
