@editor thank you for that. I’ve just received some documents from the original installer / warranty maintenance inspectors and I’m gathering the details you all mentioned so far.
Thats a tariff I hadnt considered before. You didnt say if you were getting FIT payments? Twice I have found the transfer of these problematic when moving house. There doesnt seem to be a robust way of transferring them.
House-2 bed partial stone bungalow, 5kW Samsung Gen 6 ASHP (Self install)
6.9 kWp of PV
5kWh DC coupled battery

Please find attached a list of specs I have drawn from certificates and Apps.
The leaking immersion element was replaced yesterday and the eddi is now operating again without tripping the circuit. Heating engineer was not familiar with Daikin so couldn't help with checking system. He can check ferroli once electrics are 'sorted'.
@bontwoody- we moved from a gas based combi-boiler to this. I had not heard of FIT until you mentioned it. I will check if it was raised by solicitor during purchase.
@notechknowhow If the solar panels were installed when the bungalow was built you could be in for a pleaseant surprise. 🙂

@bontwoody that sounds interesting! from what I can work out the thermal solar was installed when the house was built and then upgraded - I think it’s been the same solar cylinder throughout (straw clutching?)

Daikin user manual is here and it explains how to program DHW. Check its actually programmed before you pay anyone, there may well be nothing wrong. If it is programmed then check the diverter valve as suggested above.
If engineer can check the ferroli and you can find out if the Daikin is actually programmed to do DHW then you may be good to go with a fairly workable set up.
PS Solar PV tarifs suffer for a historic confusion. FIT, which stands for 'feed in tarrif' is actually a generation tariff, ie its paid on how much you generate not how much you export. If your installation is eligible for FIT (which depends on installation date) then there will be a separate generation meter between the solar panel inverter and the CU. Export tarifs are paid, in addition to and separately from FIT, on how much you export. This is deemed to be 50% of your generated amount for some tarifs, but the 'smarter' (and generally more generous) tarifs (which depend on having a smart meter) measure and pay based on the actual export amount. Note this applies to the solar PV not the solar thermal.
4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.
@notechknowhow Sorry, I wasnt clear there I was talking about the PV solar panels as Jamespa points out. There is a register of all FIT installations online. I used it to find my own solar system when I moved. I have the file for 1/4/2010 to 30/6/2012. Ive attached it, but if you arent spreadsheet/database minded I dont mind searching it for you. If you give me the first part of you postcode and the capacity of your system, I can find any matches. Of course your installation could be later than June 2012 but you can find the files on google.

Have you seen this Youtube video BTW. It looks like your control unit?

@jamespa thank you for the clarification.
I think I need to sit down and summarise all the info you have all sent and develop an action log for myself - do the checks that have been suggested and get back with findings and further queries.
the original installer who also carried out the ‘fatal’ annual inspection has acknowledged they have created an issue (probably turning off the DHW settings) and will walk me through the control box / system on phone hopefully tomorrow. I am also due another annual review to keep the warranty live till 2026 - they said they would provide ‘an extra hour’ of face to face advice after that inspection. (Different engineer this time).
….some silver lining to the failed / leaking immersion as it brought issue into the open and I now feel armed with more understanding - albeit with your collective assistance.
have been unable to locate a thermal solar electrician in the Truro area to date.
@bontwoody thank you - TR4 and I think the capacity stated on the pdf notes I posted was 5.525 kWp ?
