@morgan Not a dumb question! If your heat pump is internet connected, you would have access to the Samsung SmartThings app (if you have a Samsung). I see you have a Mitsubishi, so in your case you would have access to the Mitsubishi Melcloud app.

I do indeed have a Mitsubishi Ecodan and can access the Melcloud app. The MC app however is very limited. I take it then that Havenwise is not possible here?

@morgan Havenwise uses the data that is fed to Melcloud so it could work for you. I haven't inquired but I would expect you to need to be using the main controller or mitsubishi wireless controllers for it to work otherwise its not going to know what the internal temperature is. If you have 3rd party thermostats its not going to work
There is a month's free trial its just software so maybe worth a look.
@morgan : Gary is right on Melcloud. If you have access to the Melcloud app, it just means your heat pump is internet connected, which allows Havenwise to send and receive signals to the heat pump. So Havenwise will work.
@gary If the Mitsubishi controller / thermostat is located appropriately, we use this temperature as reference. If not, we send a wireless temperature sensor (no extra cost!). And Havenwise still works with 3rd party thermostats if you use the 3rd party stats as temperature limiters (which is general best practice for heat pumps anyways!).

Tackling the questions one by one:
@gary is now connected to Havenwise, welcome!
@alfapat Thank you for reaching out via email. I have answered there. For the benefit of the forum, if the heat pump is internet connected, you can get started with Havenwise with just a few clicks on your phone / computer. The prerequisite is that the heat pump is internet connected.
@morgan If you want to connect it to Havenwise, you can go to our website ( https://www.havenwise.co.uk/) and link your heat pump with a few clicks. Any questions, let me know!

But first I have to remove any controls I've set up here such as scheduled setbacks and temp variations?
Also what mode do I set the ASHP to work with Havenwise? Presently I run on a weather comp and occasionally auto-adapt mode.
Do I need to remove the Legionella schedule in order not to clash with Havenwise control?
Any other settings I need to remove before handing over control to Havenwise?

Is Havenwise limited to UK? I might be interested for my Mitsubishi here in the Algarve
@broadsman I’ve reached out on your behalf. Let’s see if anyone at Samsung replies. Where are you based in the country?
