Hi,

Recently a plumber came to flush the system and clean out the magfilter. There is a long back story i wont go into here.

I spotted that he added ADEY MC1 to the system and at the end of the day I asked what level Glycol he add, his response "does it need Glycol?".  There are no Antifreeze valves so yes it does!

Anyway, while i wait for the company to return to add Glycol, can anyone tell me if Adey MC1 is safe to have in a system with a DHW cylinder?  I've read the instructions and it says "for central heating" but nothing about whether it can be used wher DHW is heated by the same source.

One thing of interest, the efficiency has dropped away since the removal of Glycol and addition of the MC1, I had to increase the heating curve 2c to get to the same temp in the house.  I changed the setting to "No Glycol" while it has no Glycol so i would assume it should be more efficient, it seems the MC1 is making it less efficient.

so the Inhibitor should not be used in ASHP with Cyclinders.
