RE: Isolating the system for a planned power cut

By Batpred, 4 weeks ago

The inverter is a Solis S6-EH1P8K-L-PLUS, the RCD (100ma)+MCB that I mentioned are dedicated to this grid connection supplying the inverter. All circuits supplying the house loads are under RCBOs. The...
RE: Radiator sizing for heat pump installation by British Gas - are these correct?

By Bash, 4 weeks ago

@jamespa Thanks, I'm assuming as I'll have a decent volume of around 120ltrs + pipework, the reduced flow shouldn't make much of a difference and better than allowing the TRVs to take over too much?
RE: The Battery Battle

@batpred the future could be ultra capacitors, next best thing to nuclear fission
RE: What crazy nonsense are inverter limits and why are they imposed?

By Batpred, 4 weeks ago

I am not planning to export at this stage, but am interested to find out what is needed to set an ENA acceptable export limit in this case. The inverter is a Solis S6-EH1P8K-L-PLUS. At some point hom...
cathodeRay RE: Seeking Help for In-Principle Quote to fix a botched heat pump installation by Heat Geek Installer

Which tells us something (including possibly everything) is not right. can you describe exactly how the data gets from wherever it originates to this set of results (the one you posted earlier):  ...
RE: The Battery Battle

By Batpred, 4 weeks ago

@agentgeorge Agree and hopefully there will be a few more switching to heat pumps as well. There will need to be a lot more storage in whatever form it may be. I would not get too worried in terms of...
Toodles RE: What crazy nonsense are inverter limits and why are they imposed?

By Toodles, 4 weeks ago

@old_scientist It is as you say ‘sustained’ output with 10 kW from the battery and ~ 4 kW from solar whilst the house also draws a few hundred Watts to run in the background. This is one of the reason...
RE: Radiator sizing for heat pump installation by British Gas - are these correct?

By JamesPa, 4 weeks ago

If bedrooms are too warm just reduce the flow rate through them by turning down the lsvs (or frvs if you can get them fitted) This reduces the average rad temp this reducing the heat emitted. That's...

By JamesPa, 4 weeks ago

So why not just turn down the frvs on these radiators? There is nothing sacrosanct about the 'design' flow rate
