DESNZ have engaged ICF to do a survey of people who have had a BUS recently, to find out how satisfied they are with the performance of their ashp.

They asked sensible questions like are you satisfied with how it heats your home, balance of heat between rooms, were you warm enough in the January 2025 cold spell, is it noisy normally or when defrosting, what controls do you use, are you satisfied you understand them?etc. Plus what is the impact on your bills, is this what you expect? Have you had your gas connection removed?
I presume that eventually the results of the survey will be published.

I wonder how satisfied everyone really is? Dissatisfied people always shout the most and we are a self-selected group of interested people. But I suspect there is a lot of complacency in Whitehall about how many people are truly pleased and not been messed around with by a poorly trained installer.

Has anyone else taken part who has recently had a ashp fitted?

Without a survey their only source of data is probably MCS.  We know what they are like!

4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.
