Been a lurker here. Decided now its winter that I will sign up.

I've got a Nibe F2040 8kW heat pump, appears to be the only Nibe on the site so far!

Hello everyone, long time lurker, finally jumping on.. cause... why not? Based in the midlands, living in a 2019 what I would describe well insulated property running on a Mitsubishi Ecodan 11.2kW ASHP. There is a ton of useful information and discussions on here which has helped in understanding my system well enough to spot some mistakes at install time... in fact still finding some.. slow but steady improvements. 😎

@greekgoddj

Hi and welcome.  Lots of Ecodan users here.  If you want to discuss your own ASHP in more detail, feel free to start a thread.    If you're using auto adaptation I'd be interested in your experiences.

Welcome to the forum.

So, like me, you too are a greek god, though I don't advertise the fact because 'she who must be obeyed' gets jealous. 😋

Hi,

Found this site whilst looking for information on heat pump and solar installations, the real world user feedback and support attracted me. Currently considering options for upgrading our not particularly well insulated part stone part cavity block property from an oil boiler. We have a small field, so ground sourced an option, if expensive. Initially, trying to estimate heat loss prior to getting quotes.

Hi,

Wondering about the pros and cons of a heatpump for my house - cons seems to be winning at the moment - but interested in getting some advice. I've posted a question on the heat pump forum. Thanks in advance for any advice

Andy

Hi all,

I have recently joined the forum as I was looking for real-world users of heat pumps and found the forum very interesting and useful with a lot of information.

Thank you, Mars, for setting up this forum and others for all the great information.

As I said I am looking for the real experience of COP for the heat pump. I have posted my question in ASHP section. I hope it is in the right place.

Looking forward to your reply to my posted question.

Thanks

@andygo Hi Andy and welcome.
Please start a new question in the ASHP section.
Need information about:

- you floor area

- when was the property built, insulation and any fabric improvements?

- current heating and energy use

- EPC rating and heat demand

- have you tried turning your current boiler temperature down (below 50C) and us the home warm enough?

@mona welcome to the forum Mona.
We’ve only had our ASHP since April. my SCOP from MCS was 3 I think. But as stated in my Worcestershire ASHP note in the ASHP folder, we are using less electric than predicted. Yeh! 😊

As of yesterday I’d used 1567kWh compared to predicted 2332kWh. And the other test is my wife thinks our bungalow is warmer. Yeh again.

So I think I can press some buttons on my Daikin hydro box to get its view on COP. But I’m happy with my other two measures. My data driven fellow ASHP owners from the forum will now beat me with green stick 😂

@mona I’ve just been pressing buttons to on the Daikin. It says it’s consumed 1088kWh of electric and produced 4725kWh of heat. So a COP of 4.34. I don’t believe this number
