The good, the bad and the not that great – my heat pump installation
@cathoderay the guy I spoke to on the phone seemed very helpful.
I emailed them 2 days ago like he asked but haven't had a reply yet I assume he may be one of the only people running the show though and it is peak heating season.
Think the lady from NAPIT is back in the office on the 15th December and I last heard from her on the 14th November.
The technical team have reviewed my complaints and asked the installer to sort the buffer tank support out, noisy pipe work, repeatability blocked filters, flow issues and D2 termination pipe.
The installer has given their idea of sorting it all and the technical team are reviewing it.
At no point has the installer even offered to sort any of it sadly though even though NAPIT keep saying to me to keep on at them and them to contact me (which I have, they have not) to sort it all.
So hopefully something happens soon into the new year.
Will update as usual and if I've not
Merry Christmas everyone
Small update,
Emailed and Spoke to Midea UK and they said the fitting of a pump and flow switch is free under warranty so no labour charge as Midea Credit them for the cost of fitting.
The installer is trying to charge £180+vat, unless they were unaware of this which isn't a impossibility.
We shall see what they say.
Still no reply from NAPIT or installer about any of the other issues...
Will keep on flushing the filters for now
Tempted to do a coarse and offer heat pump services I'm getting rather quick at it 🤣
Have a good one all
I wonder if you can help me, I have Homely like you do or did.
And if I remember you didn't like the way smart+ worked I also don't so have gone back to normal Smart.
I am looking at getting the installer app as Homely will grant me access to it so I can see system information.
My question is what sort of thing is in the app as they are saying you should be very competent in heat pump set up whilst I understand the basics and the principles of a heating system is it that complex.
Thanks in advance for your reply 😁
@burtis I can’t be sure if all systems use the same set of parameters (in my instance, I don’t have DHW powered via the heat pump nor any additional heaters in the Daikin EDLA08 monobloc that need to be reported). What I have done is take an image of all the plots I am able to use but bear in mind, you can select one or more to view as you require. The other image shows the selection table to choose various elements. Regards and congrats on being given access to the app!
Toodles.
Toodles, heats his home with cold draughts and cooks food with magnets.
@toodles brilliant thanks for the reply.
The graphs look like they would be very useful.
What I'm wondering is what settings can you change IE flow temps and that sort of thing.
I may take it over anyway as the people that installed homely are way up in the north of the country and I'm in Southampton and they are not the same people that installed my heat pump, so may be more beneficial for me to have access 🤔
Thanks again
@burtis I only use the app to see what is going on and have not investigated what (if anything) is controllable with the app. I know it infers the installer can monitor and adjust but I know not how. Regards, Toodles.

Emailed Homely about getting access after they said I could, a couple of times now. No reply...
Hit and miss replies from NAPIT I'm glad my system is reasonably functional as if it wasn't and the installer was being uncooperative it would be awful. A lot of back and forward.
I am also still completely in the dark as to what they have found or have agreed on is wrong with my system install.
Installer is coming round finally to actually do some of those things on the 6th which is great. But they won't do anything that's wrong with it unless NAPIT have told them to do so. Or they can 'alter' thing for additional costs.
At least is seems we may be coming to the end...
Still no reply from Homely....
Will try them again soon.
Installer has been over now following a push from NAPIT.
D2 Termination was wrong
D1 is wrong but they are trying to argue they can't do anything about it so we shall see what they say.
Replaced the pump and flow switch in the unit under warranty. Cleaned filters again... Nothing in them really
Very next day a error flow.
Reset and in the morning a flow error.
Both times seems to be when it calls to do the hot water side of the system so that could be linked to something.
They are trying to blame it on homely but I've had flow errors for the whole year before that was even fitted.
The quest to resolve this continues
Must of knocked a load of crud through when they added the glycol finally. 2 days after a filter clean. Picture added of the filter
Even though they had advised against it as they used liquid PTFE and apparently it can break it down, but to appease NAPIT it had to be done.
I have purchased some adjustable heat pump feet to get it off the wall in a hope to reduce noise transfer as they don't want to do anything about it so hopefully this may help.
I have said to them I will pay for a radiator to change the one that was not replaced as all the debris may be coming from there... Maybe as they don't want to flush the system again.
Been 4 days and no fault COP hovering around 450%-590% since I have lowered the circulation pump speed to 1 house still warm and the noise is basically gone from our bedroom.
Slowly but surely getting there maybe...
Not heard back from the installer for 5 days or NAPIT for around a week, we shall see
