@derek-m i wont have that data until tomorrow, its measured using smart meter by my electricity provider. But why would fan be on and flow going to loops if no call for heat?
Posted by: @newhouse87so it happened again at 11:30last night
If "it" was going wrong at 23:30 then you should be able to see the electricity usage on data collected by your Energy Supplier sometime after midnight.
Also, get hold of the Bright App from Hildebrand.
You can give them permission to pick up your smart meter data directly (via DCC).

@transparent no day slow here -, uk must be different. Still need to figure out why its coming on at all.

Just to confirm. It would appear from the photo's that your system is a 'split' rather than a 'mono', so no water going through the outdoor unit hence no need for anti-freeze, and no need for frost protection.
I assume that you have just taken the photo's when the problem is not present. Please take photo's when the problem next occurs.
I need to go to the supermarket, so will give the problem some thought and get back to you later.
In the meantime try increasing the ET setting and see if the backup heater is switched on.
@derek-m yes its split, no them photos were when the issue was occurring last night before bed. Thanks again. The BUH is enabled in settings but didn't seem to come on last night or maybe it ws n background when i upped equilibrium temp. Its nothing to do with cycling is it?

Apologies. I forgot you're in Ireland.
So the Bright App route probably won't work either.
FYI the original spec for the Smart Meters used in the UK was worked on jointly with other EU countries, way back in 2013.
I have a copy of that document whilst it was still under discussion.
There should be a lot in common between our systems, but I don't know:
- What is the Irish equivalent of the Data Communications Company (DCC), who route data to/fro the meters
- Who operates your Wide Area Network, on what frequencies etc (GB has Telefonica and Arqiva)
- What sort of Communications Hubs you have sat on top of your electricity meter (we have types with 5 LEDs or 2 LEDs)
- What your In-Home Device(s) tell you by way of useful information
The Smart Meter spec for the UK only became different when our National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) provided input to the project.
I also have that document from Nov 2014.
Regardless of whatever might be the current issues with your ASHP, it might be worthwhile investing in a data logger for your electricity supply.
That would put you in a better position to make use of new types of tariff which will emerge shortly.
In the UK we have Octopus trialing 6 different Time of Use (ToU) tariffs,
but we are committed to have these modified with Nodal (locational) Tariffs.
As the proportion of renewable energy generation increases, it becomes increasingly important to understand the relationship between your own usage, and the pattern of peak demand and generation within your area. Solar and wind generation are no respecter of human activity or administrative boundaries!

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that your previous post stated that the water pump was running, but not the compressor, and that you were using 6kWh of electrical energy somewhere. Is there any other items of equipment that could be using 6kWh?
@derek-m if i did it was a mistake, compressor and pump both running when it occurred last night and think it was the same other day aswell. No nothing else that would cause that , im sure of that. 6kwh per hour seems very excessive as i dont think i have ever seen that during winter when pump was meant to be running. Suppose if i can find what causes it it to start when no call for heat i can prevent it and not worry about the usage going forward.
Just attached 11th usage below, mad usage again with pump when no call for heat.

If the heat pump is running, then there must be a call for heat. Are you still operating your heating system with the thermostats set 1C above desired temperature?
@derek-m no was not doing it continuous, was going to try this week until issue arose. Manifold has no ligts on and stats arent aclling for heat unless i have electrical issue so. Rang unitherm there, he said get plumber back and check if buh valve sticky or stuck on or something.
