Nibe S2125 - anybody had experience with this relatively new heat pump?

The Nibe S2125-12 looks like a pretty interesting product, but there is remarkably little in terms of reviews and no mention on this forum (at least according to the search). Does anybody have any experience or opinions on the product?

Certainly the cold climate COP figures for 35/55c look pretty good at 4.20 / 3.40, verses the old NIBE F2040-12 of 3.63/2.85. The nominal sound figures are also lower

@olly, there aren’t many Nibe users on the forums. I’ll ask around to see who’s got this model. The published specifications sound good, but it’s all about how they perform outside the lab.

It’s 0.99m2 in volume, so it needs PP if you want to install it.

That’s going to make it unpopular in the UK for sure.

Off grid on the isle of purbeck
2.4kW solar, 15kWh Seplos Mason, Outback power systems 3kW inverter/charger, solid fuel heating with air/air for shoulder months, 10 acres of heathland/woods.

My wife’s house: 1946 3 bed end of terrace in Somerset, ASHP with rads + UFH, triple glazed, retrofit IWI in troublesome rooms, small rear extension.

I agree. I don't know why manufacturers do this. Recent Samsung is also bigger than 0.6 m3.

@kev-m, the UK probably isn't a key market for them. I wonder if other European countries have similar planning permission criteria for heat pumps.

The requirement for planning permission is indeed a pain, but it seems to be a problem with the planning permission in the UK, not the unit. UK is indeed a tiny market compared to the EU. You would think the noise is the major issue for planning permission, not the size. Perhaps a larger box allows a better, more optimal/serviceable layout internally.

@olly You also want the largest evaporator to output ratio you can find - less chance of icing up and a slower fan speed. A big unit gives you that.

Apologies to ressurect this old thread but I am considering replacing my Vaillant Arotherm 7kW due to excessive noise and I would be very interested in hearing any first hand experiences of the NIBE S2125 (R290). Its quoted as having a nominal sound output of 49db, which is the lowest I am aware of.
