Ecodans and Nest thermostats - can it work?
Posted by: @hightowerI've been looking in the manual but can't quite figure out if the ftc6 can do the auto adaptation on it's own, or if it needs a seperate room temp sensor - that I guess the mitsubishi one would be - and not sure if the nest does or not...
Hi,
The FTC controller has an inbuilt temperature sensor, which can be used to provide auto adaptation control, provided that the FTC controller is sited in a suitable location. As far as I am aware the Nest is just an expensive thermostat, and just switches the heating on and off.

You need either a Mitsubishi wireless controller, a thermistor hard wired into the FTC6 or as Derek says the FTC6 controller to be in the living area. If it's in the airing cupboard like mine, it won't work properly on auto adaptation.
Managed to speak to the installers - hopefully got the wireless controller heading my way ( they didnt install it thanks to the nest being there, but didn't leave me it either!
Will go with the weather compensation for now and then mess it all up again if/when the controller arrives!
