Ecodan install
Hi all.
Electricity amp upgraded today from 60a to 100a in readiness for ASHP install. Arranged through the DNO. Took the guys maybe 25min. Cost was £342.78 paid upfront. Apparently this used to be free. Oooof.
Install begins on Monday all being well. Will keep updating, hopefully it'll be therapeutic for me but also the stuff shared on here has just been so helpful sort of keen to try and contribute any learning for others in same boat as me..
@RV3 looking forward to your updates. I have an Ecodan install scheduled in October.
Retrofitted 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan to new radiators commissioned November 2021.
14 x 500w Monocrystalline solar panels.
2 ESS Smile G3 10.1 batteries.
ESS Smile G3 5kw inverter.
Hello all. Install completed. Hot water again!! Pretty smooth install I think, two blokes here for five days, also couple of electricians for a day and a half. Our old system took some work to figure out I think. Hopefully the solar thermal on the roof brought back into operation as well it wasn't working. Very early days so will report back as start to get used to it.
In the meantime - just as I go live with ASHP my elec supplier goes bust - and my 14p per kwh deal is I would imagine a thing of the past.
@rv3 what size KW is the Ecodan?

@morgan, it's the 14kw. You'll see on the ecodan website most of the other smaller sizes in the range seem to have had a makeover they look better and are marketed as 'ultra quiet'. Bit of a shame they hadn't done this with the 14kw as well - they'll maybe release one sooner or later but we needed to crack on.
When is your install scheduled for, might be good to compare learner notes - the received wisdom seems to be there's a period of adjustment and tinkering before you can settle on the optimum etc.
@rv3 21/22 October for the water followed by the CH on 28/29 October. Installers need to split the job due to being very busy.

Just had a call from my installer bringing my install forward (post above) to commence Monday 11th October to be completed by Friday in one go. Happy days 👍
