I've just manually changed "Summer time" to "Off". Does anyone know if this thing can talk to an NTP server? A technology from the 80s no less.

I have just done the same thing but found the time had actually changed, but presumably it is overridden by the "Summer Time" "On/ Off."

If it has to be manual, it is strange that this basic setting does not seem to be available on MelCloud.

@davidalgarve Hi, I"m not convinced about your observation as I originally had "Summer time" set to "Off" and still had to manually change the time. Is it possible that the time was incorrect on your system throughout summer?

Yes @ecodan-prisoner... agreed it’s a bit annoying. I’ve adjusted the Summer Time setting to OFF and the time was auto adjusted back by one hour.

So it needs to be switched on and off at the appropriate date. Bit primitive.

incidentally MELCloud, being an internet app is automatically adjusted to the correct time. So the two systems communicate with each other but with different time settings without any conflict. It’s an odd one...

You may be correct ecodan-prisoner, but your post prompted me this morning to open up "Summer Time"  and it was showing "On". Whilst I had that open I noticed that the time in the top section was correct i.e updated. Your new post prompted me to check if changing "Summer Time" to "Off" had wound it back an hour, but it is still reading correct time.

I am confident it has been on the correct time throughout the summer, because I have been changing schedules 2 or 3 times a week whilst trying to optimise working with newly installed solar pv.

Perhaps there are differences in software, but whatever the explanation, it is time this and MelCloud were updated.

@davidalgarve Mmm, OK that sounds odd. Is it an FTC6? The only function of the "Summer time" on/off that I can see is adding/not adding an hour to the "base time" that is set when setting the time. Is there some other setting in the service menu perhaps?

ecodan-prisoner It is an FTC 5.There is the "Date/ Time" option, but what I was referrring to earlier was that the the time at the top of the screen was correct at the time of me switching Summer Time off.

After your comment, I then checked by opening Date/ Time option. Could there be differences between FTC5 and FTC 6?
