Yes, I’ve been following this for a while, and one of the chaps behind Havenwise is quite active on these forums, and it looks very promising.

@editor I'll watch with interest. My LG ashp does not have a WiFi dongle so I'd need to be sure it works with my kit before investing.
I suspect a significant part of the saving in the example came from using weather compensation and switch to Agile. So will be interesting to get more feedback on real world savings.
But even if the saving is circa 10 to 20% it could be worth it.

Hmm. Thinking further, the use of cloud-only communication is an important point.
Using a modbus connection (local wire, as Homely does) means installation of the smart controller device is not just plug and play. However, once installed, what the controller can in principle tell the heat pump to do is only limited by what the heat pump can be configured to do.
Using a cloud connection, the Havenwise solution can indeed be plug and play in the true understanding of the average punter. However, in order to do that, their systems will need to communicate not with the heat pump but with the manufacturer’s cloud offering. That means the potential scope of what Havenwise can control is limited to the subset of the heat pumps capabilities that the manufacturer chose to expose to their own portal and app. What the Havenwise app can do is also going to be interrupted by manufacturers’ cloud system faults or upgrades when they occur despite the heat pump running fine locally.
Of course, this is the same compromise choice one has to make with any home automation system. In my case, I’m working via the cloud for my heat pump and locally via modbus for my inverter. Both are valid choices, neither is perfect.

@toodles noted!
As I have an older LG it's not currently an option for me. But I'm looking to get it internet connected as first step

Can you link to the relevant podcast that addresses the Havenwise system, please? Trying to research as the Homely set-up is beyond my tech ability.
Struggling to find the relevant podcast. TIA.
