RE: is a home battery without an EV worth it?

By JamesPa, 15 hours ago

OK but that's market forces not minimum wage and of course we don't have info on what German sparkies are actuay paid. So from the three things you suggested we are only left with import duties. So f...
Jeff RE: Electricity price predictions

By Jeff, 15 hours ago

The day ahead price is just that. The price traded for a small amount of electricity the day ahead. It is not the price of all electricity used the next day. Most electricity is bought well in advance...
RE: is a home battery without an EV worth it?

@jamespa yeah I’m only showing the min wage we’ve set as a country not for individual trades. I’m surprised they are saying an electrician only gets £12.11-13.84, no wonder so many people want to work...

@drei my career has been in Procurement so dealing with lifetime costs is part of my DNA. For our install the annual service cost will basically be the same as our current boiler and pressurised cylin...

Best and most honest thing I’ve heard. You wouldn’t believe the abuse I’ve received whenever I ask people: “Do you actually know what the total cost of ownership for a heat pump is?” Because I do now…...

@jamespa that 2011 to 2021 period was probably when "policy costs" were loaded disproportionately onto electricity
JulianC RE: Electricity price predictions

By JulianC, 20 hours ago

@diverted-energy hi. That sounds a good deal. We use ~8700kWh/year. I currently pay 27p/kWh during the day and 7p between 23:30 & 5:30 daily. I pay Octopus £104/month & have built up a good ca...

No to both so far as I can see, The wholesale price was pretty constant during this period so its doesnt appear to have anything to do with generation costs! Attachment : image.png
