I’ve reviewed all sorts of tech from computers and laptops back in the day to more recent things like gardening equipment and smart home gear. But it’s been a long time since a product made such a massive impact on our daily routine as our new ECOVACS DEEBOT T30 Omni has.

Working from home means more cleaning than I’d like to admit, and we’re always tidying up after the cats or clearing crumbs left from last night’s dinner. But since we got this robot cleaner, it feels like we’ve reclaimed our mornings. We come downstairs, and everything’s spotless - no cat fur, no crumbs, just a fresh start to the day. And it’s ridiculous how good it is.

This little guy has genuinely freed up time we didn’t even realise we were spending on vacuuming and mopping. If you’re debating on a robot cleaner, I’d honestly recommend looking into the T30 Omni.

Here’s our review:

We don’t have one but a friend I work with does; a Roomba he’s christened “Alfred”.

And, in good techie style, he’s incorporated it into Home Assistant...

105 m2 bungalow in South East England
Mitsubishi Ecodan 8.5 kW air source heat pump
18 x 360W solar panels
1 x 6 kW GroWatt battery and SPH5000 inverter
1 x Myenergi Zappi
1 x VW ID3
Raised beds for home-grown veg and chickens for eggs

yes we have had "Vaccy boy" cleaning downstairs for over 18 months. It's good but on second battery now. It is a basic model by Eufy.

@jancold We have the Roomba i7, one upstairs, the other downstairs [natch] (they are not good at climbing stairs!). Very pleased with them and previously had a junior Roomba that requires the drudge of manually emptying it after each use (shock horror!) That junior model was passed on to daughter; these days a little routing cleaning of rollers, brushes and detectors is all we need do and change the dust bag in the base station about every 6 months. No cat to ride on ours though😉. Toodles.

It took four decades for the Daleks to get the upgrade so they weren't defeated by stairs.  I suspect robot vacuums may be even longer.

4kW peak of solar PV since 2011; EV and a 1930s house which has been partially renovated to improve its efficiency. 7kW Vaillant heat pump.

What we need is a robotic window vac to suck up the condensation every morning. Though, of course, when the heat pump is installed there will be no condensation. Yea right! This house has humidity so high we wear wellies or we get wet feet. 🤣

@jancold When we moved into a brand new (not quite finished being built) council house in 1954, the plastered walls were still running with water as soon as the coal fire was lit. Metal casement single glazed windows chimed in with condensation. The plaster did eventually dry out but, we had to live with the condensation every winter.😒 Regards, Toodles.
