@Toodles I've only had my 6kWp solar system for 7 months so I cannot compare. However, my best production ove the period you mention was 24.7kWh which was on 11th October and the worst 0.4kWh on 19th January.
There were only 3 days in January that I didn't manage 1 kWh. The best January day was Friday when I got 16.6kWh. Total January production was 176.5kWh.
I'm in North Buckinghamshire.
@ianmk13 My neck of the woods provided 123.2 kWh for the whole of January 2025. 🤢 That is with 8.1 kWp. spread over roofs and garden mounted. Envious, Toodles.

January with 6.1kWp system was 213kWh, double that of December.

Hello. Six months ago we had 4.4kw of panels installed on our roof. I'm trying to understand how much power they have generated since then. There is an Emlite ECA 2Z meter on the system which only shows an import reading. Currently it is on 254.8kwh. Is that the power that my panels have generated? If so thats a measly 1.4kwh per day if I am correct. These were installed on an ECO4 grant, but not much of a return on investment no matter who paid for them. To be fair this has been over winter and not over the much brighter, longer summer days, and we live opposite a wood that will have some shading effect on the panels, However it has been commented that the panels are set too low on our angled roof and should have been mounted higher up. Am I redaing the meter correctly and can anybody advise on options available please. Thanks for any advice in advance.
Winter is a bad time for solar generation. This past winter has been gloomier than normal and if your panels aren't facing south or are vulnerable to shading (my array's production is badly affected by trees, some of which are over 50m away) then the output is even worse. In my case https://monitoringpublic.solaredge.com/solaredge-web/p/site/public?name=Liden#/dashboard the output is quickly increasing as the sun spends more time above those trees.
Our 6kW system has generated just over 400kWh since 1st October. We are south facing but our neighbours all have tall trees. Spring isn’t too bad since there are no leaves on the trees, but autumn and winter are poor, the sun doesn’t get to the roof.
So your system appears to have generated above half of our generated hours so it is slightly worse pro-rata. Once you get into April the sun will presumably get above the trees. Only then can you really tell.
To make it work for you in summer, when presumably you use less power than is generated, you will need an export tariff. Each electricity supply company have different rates and you may not be on the best for you.

Our 6.16 array has generated 242kWh in January and 222 kWh in February which is pretty close to previous years. Production always increases significantly in March.

A bit of an overcast start to the year for my 3.6kW array, fully south facing not shaded. 153kWh in January 123.3kWh in February, but comparable to this time in 2024. 2023 was considerably better.
