Octopus no longer requires MCS certification for SEG payments
https://gtec.co.uk/clause-5-8-octopus-opens-up-the-solar-pv-market-with-a-paragraph/
Hopefully this is not a belated 1st April. Good to see the market being opened up; we need a plurality of options!
Perhaps @transparent will now change from Ovo to Octopus 🙂
That's good to know @chickenbig
There will be many forum members here who would be competent enough to install their own renewable generation devices, and then employ a qualified electrician to make the mains connection for the inverter.
So they can now register for SEG payments from Octopus.
That will make a significant difference.
I'm in discussion with others in Devon who will be designing and installing 1kWh water turbines.
24kWh per day is more than they'll need for in-house consumption.
and that technology could never achieve MCS accreditation.
It's the mains connection for the inverter which needs professional certification, not the hydro-generator!
Save energy... recycle electrons!
