Last year's service was £180 for me.
My Ecodan 8.5kw turned 5 years old in 2022 so I guess yearly servicing is no more essential in terms of keeping the now expired warranty validated, but maybe still needed for RHI payments. Will see how finances are, maybe alternating between gas boiler (HW) & HP service.
Side note: had our refrigerant changed last year also which I believe involves draining the coolant that was in there and recompressing (?). Anyhow, that was at a cost of ~£275. The service company wouldn't do it, I needed the F gas engineer.
I guess - if I cant find a record of annual services performed - it will void my Mitsubishi warrantee. Will it also impact on my RHI payments? Im really concerned now.Posted by: @tufty
Might void your warranty. I don't know if anything is recorded in the controller or with Mitsubishi. Can you remember which company did it?
I believe it won't affect RHI as long as the pump works OK.
I dont. 🙁 I had to leave that job to my ex because I had my hands full with builders etc at the time. Ive gone through my bank statements and cant see any payments, so she must have paid for the services. (bless her)
Each year I have signed the RHI declaration that Ive been having annual servicing. My concern is that they may turn around and say "Unless you provide us proof youve had it serviced every year, we'll reclaim all the RHI payments". Based on what youve said (dont worry, Im not taking it as gospel!) Im over-worrying about this.
If the warrantee is voided because I cant find evidence - it will be annoying - but not the end of the world.
I don’t know if this helps! https://les.mitsubishielectric.co.uk/homeowners/register-ecodan-guarantee

Have you? Our declaration only asked if it's still in good working order.
Ditto. Have never seen a maintenance/servicing question.

Hmmm, perhaps Im mis-remembering. Ive had an ASHP company tell me "The service will need to be carried out by a trained engineer to validate the warranty and is also a requirement for the Renewable Heat Incentive (if relevant)".
Also this page: https://www.kdpumps.co.uk/heat-pump-service/ "an annual heat pump service will also ensure the heat pump system’s warranty will remain valid, and in line with the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)"
And in their guidance (7. Maintenance): https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/sites/default/files/docs/2021/04/ndrhi_guidance_vol2._final_2021_0.pdf
Am I mis-reading the situation? (I hope so!)

@Tufty, the only thing you've declared each year is that your kit is in good working order. The RHI lot expect you to keep it so (and quite rightly so), but their benchmark is that you follow the manufacturer's servicing instructions. Paperwork is simply evidence of that having happened, but we live in the real world and papers do go missing, get damaged or get accidentally destroyed. If you were to get a service done this year, that will provide you with paperwork that would demonstrate someone has checked the kit and that it is indeed still in good working order. If the RHI lot were to ask for some evidence it would be entirely reasonable to show them the latest paperwork and point out any previous paperwork was the victim of personal circumstances, and if the ASHP is in good order now it's reasonable for the RHI to infer it's been working fine in the intervening period.

@majordennisbloodnok - Thanks for those words of reason. Good to know I was panicing over nothing. Ill get a service booked in.

I don't doubt that some say that. There are plenty of liars in this industry.

Is there any public proof of the bit in bold?
I have 2 properties with ASHPs (LG Monobloc Therma V) installed 3 years ago. So far there have been no issues except an early blockage in the micro filter (retro fit was flushed but still had a little muck).
I am "servicing" them myself but wonder what other people are doing? At what cost?
1 or 2 times a year clean micro water filter inside ASHP
2 or 3 times a year blow out leaves as necessary
Tray underneath should be cleared of leaves etc so that water drips away as necessary
Check water pressure
Bleed radiators
Magnaclean filters check/clean
Any other recommended tasks?
