What's your current daily damage?
Averaging 25kwh per day on a 10kw vaillant . Max consumption is 36.4kwh in a day so far
Running at 38° flow today. 2° outside most rooms at 19° C however, a few are lagging a little at 17 C, but these are rooms like the landing so it doesn’t matter too much.
im hoping not to go over 50kWh per day over the next week or so. We shall see. Maybe ambitious…
250sqm house. 30kWh Sunsynk/Pylontech battery system. 14kWp solar. Ecodan 14kW. BMW iX.
So on Weds I realised that using the log burner was turning off the stat and leaving upstairs cold. So I moved the stat upstairs to the landing which is cold.
usage was 80kWh for the day
Yesterday we decided it was a bit too warm so moved the stat back downstairs and set to 18.5 instead of 18.
I save was 50kWh. On a colder day.
Just shows how much difference a small change can made.

Sorry, I can't interpret that.
Sorry should have said: Yesterday was 50kWh.

60-100 kw per day this week - calculated using the loop app (the electric co app takes too long to update but is more accurate re costs), and charging an electric car (which I do every other night especially through colder weather for weekly commutes and car battery charge to 50%).
Thermostat set at 20.
Also have 4.2 PV array so washing machines/dishwashers etc are mix and match on daytime or overnight use obviously depending on amount of sunshine available at this time of year in Lincolnshire.
Currently on Scottish power EV tariff so 6p kw overnight 31p every other time until May or unless a better tarrif comes along 🤞. On RHI and awaiting for Scottish power to pull there finger out for an awaited SEG so costs are/should be offset versus summer use.
Powering X2 10kw Grant Aerona installed this January for approx 350sqm, and still experimenting with water Temps and hive thermostat and water heating. I've just realised 🤦🏻♂️ why I was getting spikes in electricity due to hot water being timed right until the 6p cut off without thinking that the heating is off thus spiking just as the 32p/kw starts after 5am thus the thermostat has to catch up I guess. With this in mind hoping for a lesser usage next week. Also turning off the trv in unused rooms but not sure if latency would drag my heat into there?
Looking at batteries - would probably invest in a Tesla Powerwall as these seem to be the only ones that would deliver domestic electricity in a power cut? And especially as my partner is also getting an EV next year. It looks like there will be further rolling out of V2H but pod point won't support this and not sure if would be happy with car battery degradation.
If it is safe probably would invest in more PV and a compatible EV charger instead.
Might also look at installing a diverter in time for summer to use excess PV to charge EV/heat water cylinder.

46kWh yesterday reported by the heat pump / MELcloud. That would have cost me approx £13.70.
Using the reported consumption figures since it was installed at the end of August, I've been comparing my HP's estimated running cost with what my old gas boiler would have cost to produce the same amount of heat. So far it's still cheaper each day than if we'd stayed on gas, and significantly cheaper overall (yesterday would have cost me £16.50 for example). I'm not sure if it will remain cheaper on each individual day for the duration of winter, but I'm fairly certain it will net out cheaper over the course of the year.
A fair chunk of that is down to the battery + TOU tariff though, which makes for a slightly unfair comparison as it doesn't account for my normal electricity use also being more expensive during the day. Having said that, I also have solar panels, but I have ignored them for the above comparison, so maybe it balances out. One day I'll do this properly...
