Visit a Heat Pump sessions.
It will not come as a surprise to anyone already involved in the NESTA VAHP scheme but, we had our second session of visitors (5 in all) this morning; I like to think it was a great success.
We all went out into the back garden so that they could see and hear the Daikin ASHP; now, we live in a noisy environment so the sound of the pump running is often masked anyway. Everyone was stood 1 - 2 metres away from the pump and listened.. I had to walk up to the pump and put my hand in front of the pump to reassure them it was indeed running - point made I feel!
Lots of questions ensued about the installation, pipework, position of pump, location of the indoor gubbins etc. I sensed that there was concern about radiators - their size and appearance mainly, this was soon settled as were concerns over running cost etc. We discussed the installation procedure, installers etc., we spoke about tariffs… in fact the session stretched to 2 hours but all the visitors were very engaged throughout - with many aspects and fears being settled before they left. Naturally, I have provided them all with the link to RHH!
I had an email about an hour later from one couple - they have now signed up for an ASHP to be installed by Octopus Energy who quoted for them recently. Success! As Janet used to proclaim at the end of the Morcambe & Wise Show - It makes it all Worthwhile!
Regards, Toodles.
Toodles, he heats his home with cold draughts and cooks his food with magnets.
Congratulations @toodles, that's a fantastic result. Well done!
I know I would have loved the opportunity to visit a heat pump installation before committing to ours, so I am not surprised to hear you've got an instant sign up. Keep up the great work.
Samsung 12kW gen6 ASHP with 50L volumiser and all new large radiators. 3.645kWp solar (south facing), Fox ESS inverter.
Solar generation completely offsets ASHP usage annually. We no longer burn ~1600L of kerosene annually.
