I’m curious to know what everyone’s SCOP on their ASHPs is. If you’ve been running your pump for a year (one winter and one summer) I’d love to know who has an annual COP of over 3.

I can only use the Carnot number from Emoncms HP app. Using the Carnot formula my number is 4.22. My total energy usage for the year 3634kwh. The "SCOP" number compares to previous oil usage of 1600litres/annum (16000kwh) and estimated energy usage from EPC and estimated energy usage from heat loss calculation.

How do you work out the COP some say its yield divided by consumption and others say yield plus consumption divided by consumption??

COP is heat delivered divided by power consumed.

So 100 kW / 20 kW = 5 COP

12kW Midea ASHP - 8.4kw solar - 29kWh batteries
262m2 house in Hampshire

On my system (Vaillant Arotherm Plus 5kW hybrid system) it is showing from 1st January through to today, it has consumed 686 kWh and the yield is 3605 kWh, so a COP of 5.25, so happy with that, although the numbers are obviously a bit of a fudge as the boiler kicks in when the COP would be lower.

Our lifetime COP is 2.71 as we enter our fourth winter with this heat pump.

That's just what I was thinking.  I think it's from publically available data from MCS if you have some time on your hands 🙂

We just had the first annual service. Ecodan R32 8.5kW as sole source for heating and hot water. Reading the numbers off the controller works out to 3.15 for the year. I was expecting lower because the hot water figure (captured on a third-party app called MMSPHeatPump) isn't great, even in summer.
