Samsung weather compensation oddities
Posted by: @cloudclear@old_scientist thank you for this. It sounds like we have the same set up. Only difference is that I have two zones - one for UFH in extension and another for rest of the house.
Given that. I have changed my 2091, 2092 and 2093 to the same setting you have to see what happens!
Without additional monitoring, how do you know if the ASHP is cycling or not?
I don't know how having two zones may complicate/affect things, especially as presumably the two zones may require different flow temps?
With #2091-3 set to Use (Signal On/off) only, I know it's not cycling.
But otherwise, I would watch the smart meter IHD to see live electricity usage and/or listen as I can hear if the circulation pumps are running.
What I haven't yet established is if there is any measurable difference in efficiency / running costs to control with a room thermostat versus control through the Samsung controller WL & #2091, allowing the heat pump to cycle to maintain constant LWT. I've gone with the former for now, as I like to be in control / manually control things whereas I'm sure some people would rather just set and forget it, and allow the system to churn away in the background maintaining a steady temperature in the house without having to think about it or touch anything. There is no one right way - there are options and you can choose which works best for you in your setup.
Samsung 12kW gen6 ASHP with 50L volumiser and all new large radiators. 7.2kWp solar (south facing), Tesla PW3 (13.5kW)
Solar generation completely offsets ASHP usage annually. We no longer burn ~1600L of kerosene annually.
Agree re two zones. Shouldn't make any difference to how the system runs. The flow temps in FSV for both Floor and Rads are low enough for the floor too.
Can I ask what your FSV 201*, 202* and 203* settings are? You mentioned you haven't "found" your higher temp yet. I am wondering if you have 32 set for both of 202 and 203 so you have a flat curve. If I did that, would I then find my lowest output flow temp? Apologies if that is a daft question.
Once I understand the weather comp I am likely just to go with Havenwise or someone similar and leave a computer to figure it out!
