@derek-m I have set the pump to speed 2 of 3 so medium speed. I now have a flow rate of 24 l/pm. From what I understand this is the minimum it should run at (2-2.5 X the KW rating of the heat pump which is 12).

There is now a difference of 3-4 degrees. I knocked it down a degree on the offset but I think I'll put it up again as it's just a little cooler than we'd like but I want to monitor it for a day or two.

I also intend to switch the heating off on a timer for a few hours in the early morning to see if that saves or costs us more.

Just an update really. Thanks

@derek-m I've found a setting under heat #40**

#405* has an option #4052 that sets the inverter pump to run to adjust delta t.

Is this a setting for the pumps I don't have? It's adjustable in degrees and listed as "target delta t".

Pic of the manual attached.

Below is my interpretation of the various settings.

#4051     0 = water pump off   1 = water pump on - speed range 0 to 100%     2 = water pump on - speed range 0 to 70%.

#4052 is the desired setting of the DT, which can be adjusted between 2C and 8C.

#4053 is probably how quickly the system responds to achieve the desired DT.

You have 2 pumps in series don't you? How do they interact when you change the setting on one pump or did you change both equally? I would have thought the flow rate was determined by the slowest pump or are they cleverer than that?

@mike-h I have one on the in and one on the out. I adjusted both. I haven't tried just one.

@derek-m so would these actually make any difference to the difference in flow in and out temps if I adjusted them? I'm getting between 3 & 4 degrees difference now I've slowed down the flow and raised the offset on the temps on home screen back to zero.

What are you thinking of adjusting? Please clarify.

@derek-m the 405 # settings. Probably 4052 to get my flow and return temps to have a larger difference or have I misunderstood the job of these settings?

The setting of #4052 is the desired value, which would normally be achieved by varying the speed of the water pump within its operational limits. Your system cannot control the speed of your water pump, so changing these settings should have no effect.

Okay, thanks. I'm not sure I can go much slower on the pumps. 24l/pm now with both pumps on middle speed. Not sure how I can make the temps further apart now. Currently between 2-4 degrees difference on flow and return.

If you want to see what the flow/return looks like on a 5kW Samsung gen6 with a pwm primary pump, for comparison:
