Noisy Wilo Circulation Pump on Joule Preplumbed Cylinder
I have a high pitched oscillating noise coming from the joule preplumbed cylinder in my loft. Have been told it is coming from the wilo pump attached to the cylinder. Finding it very disturbing in bedroom and bathroom below. It makes a noise whenever the unit is running for heating or dhw and also, when it just "circulates" to avoid freezing. Joule have said some noise is normal. But I've also been told a high pitched noise isn't normal. Does anyone else have experience of this or any suggestions?
Our secondary pump attached to the LLH and radiator pipes is a Wilo Pico; this pump is very quiet in normal operation. Have you tried ‘tweaking’ the speed control up or down just a little? I have found the pump does have a ‘sweet spot’ where it is very quiet, (which on our system, coincides with the optimal setting for our LLH balance as it happens). Now this may just be our luck and the system but it might be worth trying if yours is the same model. Regards, Toodles
