How Many ASHPs Work Correctly From Commissioning Date ( The resolution page)
I am wondering if we can have a page about the systems that had issues resolved. Out of say 1000 installations if 10% work perfectly, 20% great, 20% kind of and 50% need further work or if the % is skewed much further 10/90 to not working.
I suppose we hear a lot more about the systems that do not work V the systems that work very well.
I am also interested in anyone who has or had experience with their ASHP not working but then had it resolved we can share in a very short format list for 3 examples below:
Example 1
Issue: Ecodan flow rate failed on and off for 1 year, 6 visits by installer until resolved
Resolution: F/R pipe changed from 22mm to 28mm better flow rates established
Example 2
Issue: Daikin noisy condenser for months, Daikin engineers visit twice and installer all confirm its normal, noise above 70db
Resolution: Packing bolt left in compressor after delivery
Example 3
Issue: Ecodan works perfectly out of the box and no issues to date
Resolution: Great installation company, spot on after sales support (love my ASHP)
I thought it may be fun to see and maybe instil some faith in that ASHP's work, they work well when designed, installed and cared for correctly.

I think that's echoed here, because many people come to our site and forums because they have niggles or issues: https://renewableheatinghub.co.uk/forums/renewable-heating-air-source-heap-pumps-ashps/rate-the-quality-of-your-heat-pump-design-and-installation

Oh yes, I see, interesting that one of the 1st posts was a professional pointing out how many they attend and repair stating sub 10% design correctly, I wonder if there are 100's not working correctly then.
I will read through them, but I think the weakness in the industry is both initial design and commissioning so what causes most of the issues is the beginning and the end of each project, perhaps most of the middle stuff (the plumbing) is kind of OK. " I am ducking behind my desk to avoid objects being thrown at me when I say about that middle stuff"
🙂
