Ecodan Legionella cycle - immersion heater problem
@clockworks Along with the Law, the MCS can be an ass with absobloominglutely no margin for pragmatism; we are two and used a 99 litre DHW cylinder without ever experiencing a shortage of hot water when we needed it. MCS guidelines (and validity for the BUS grant) required us to have a 210 litre tank as minimum for our 3.5 bedroomed semi. No space for any such animal so went for the Sunamp Thermino equivalent to 210 litre system at 25% of the volume - it sits in the base of our airing cupboard. We received the £5000 grant. Regards, Toodles.
Toodles, he heats his home with cold draughts and cooks his food with magnets.
Just to close this.
Finally had the installer back last week to fit an immersion thermostat with a higher rating.
As expected, no more rapid switching, immersion stays on and water gets up to temperature.
Thanks for letting us know @clockworks
I admire your optimism that the thread is now 'closed'.
It'll get re-opened at some point...
... when someone actually contracts legionnaires disease.
There will then be a lot of finger-pointing as to which organisation should take the blame.
Save energy... recycle electrons!
