I'm pretty certain that the £4.5k being quoted was on the basis of this being treated as a New Connection.

That's very different to the approach used for LCT Applications.

Overall, I recommend not having discussions about costs in a 'live' conversation.
You need that information in writing, so there's no question over what it refers to.

We can't say that yet!

We don't know the loading of your particular phase from the local substation.
Very few of the 230,000 ground-mounted substations are monitored.

I have access to a few of those which are,
and losses due to phase imbalance is a serious issue.

BSn Feeder2 current a

NGED's present RIIO-ED2 Agreement with Ofgem requires them to reduce those 'technical losses'.

Failure to do so will result in more outages due thermal stress caused by current in the Neutral (grey line in above graph).
