Agreed, @editor.
Nonetheless, whilst I wouldn't hold my breath for anything particularly useful coming out, I do think it's still worthwhile becoming a thorn in an installer's side by being very vocal with OFGEM and therefore the purse strings. After all, if they hear multiple complaints of an installer playing fast and loose with the rules, it's in OFGEM's interests to tighten up on releasing money to that installer. Whether they do it or not is a separate matter but it costs very little to make the approach.

Posted by: @mikehThey should have been honest and gave me the option to have an install before or after the thermostat was in the country.
Is there a timeline for when it will be in the UK?

Really interesting to read all of your posts earlier tonight - I actually accepted a quote today on an Aria Heat Pump and must admit having read the points I am just praying this doesn't come back to bite me...
If it’s not too much trouble, can you please keep us updated on your installation and what’s fitted? Have you got a date confirmed.

Not had a date yet - but the initial discussion sized the system as a 6KW heat pump with the 250l tank and 40l buffer tank. Sales guy seemed to think I’d hear something by the end of the week. Will keep you posted.
@trungdong @mike: Thanks for sharing your experience on this forum. Very interesting to see your journey. I'm quite astonished with the level of issues and discomfort.

Hello! I have lurked on this forum for a number of months and have decided to post now that I since I've had an Aira system installed in the last few weeks I thought it might be of interest to share my experience.
1) With me Aira fulfilled their 'accept a quote and have installation within 30 days' promise with time to spare. I found their customer service very good, quite a change from Octopus who I had been planning to go with and had been dealing with for some months before I asked them for my £500 deposit back!
2) I was swayed by Aira because of their 15 year parts and labour guarantee. Although other suppliers could do a cheaper install [they all proposed replacing fewer of the radiators - some of which were possibly 40 years old (but big)] this piece of mind was important to me. Aira's technical designer proposed replacing all but one of the radiators (about 40% more than the sales person's estimate), to better ensure the system for the next 15 years.
3) The install took five days which included taking out the old gas boiler and replacing the radiators. I was quite impressed at the way they went about it and they have done a neat job. The heat pump unit design itself is to my mind quite ascetically pleasing.
4) Post install I have needed to call them out to do a small tweak to the tap hot water temperature and to fix a snag. Both times customer services were very good and someone was on site within a few hours.
5) I had a thermostat fitted as part of the install. It does have a simple display when you touch it. The app is very simple as well.
6) It took about a week of trial and error to get to a happy medium between thermostat target temperature and TRV settings on the radiators. It will be interesting to see how things go over the winter.
@npru, welcome to the forums, and thanks for stepping out of the shadows and sharing your experience! Sounds like you’re happy with the installation so far, and the real test will come in November. Could you share some photos of your unit and plant room? It’s always interesting to see how these systems are set up.

@ivanopinion Did they install the wifi gateway? How are you controlling the unit?
CEO and co-founder at HavenWise
@hcas There's no WiFi gateway with my installation. The 250L indoor unit has 4 antennas attached to the top; I guess those are for the WiFi. On setting up, the app on my phone connected to the indoor unit via Bluetooth and I selected the WiFi network for it to use. I believe you can connect and control the indoor unit directly via Bluetooth if the WiFi is down.
On another note, I found that the Bluetooth connection between the thermostat and my indoor unit is not reliable. The indoor unit is at the back of the house upstairs. I wanted to put the thermostat in the hallway downstairs at the front. However, this didn't work as the thermostat could not connect. The distance between them was about 8m. I had to move the thermostat into a different room, closer, about 4m away, still downstairs, for it to work.
@trungdong Same, we had to compromise slightly on the location of the thermostat as the Bluetooth signal would not reach the preferred location. The range is about 10 metres on the same level as the cylinder. The range may be better in houses with internal stud walls but it seems solid brick internal walls are a bit of a signal killer.
